what's made of chocolate and wears a bow tie?

.
... this year's Father's Day chocolate fudge cake by Dufflet. Flying off the shelf already (for birthdays and hipster cake fans), be sure to pre-order yours before June 20th or Poppa will preach (you'll be in trouble deep!)

sunny summer lemon cakelet™

.

Along with monthly and seasonal additions and deletions to the Dufflet line-up of cakes, cookies and pies, we also like to give our established cakes a face-lift.

Our Lemon Cakelet™ has a new look thanks to Amy Wright. Dufflet asked bakery employees to design a new design for this perennial fav, and Amy's fresh and sunny decoration won! (Amy & Dufflet below)

Almost too pretty to slice ... but slice it you will!

All completed Tour de Dufflet passports will be eligible for a grand prize draw.

Watch this blog and follow @tourdedufflet on Twitter for updates and photos.

Tour de Dufflet FAQ:
You will visit your beginning location once (to register and receive your first stamp) - you may tour the 3 locations in any order that suits you.

We will offer refreshments to registered participants at all 3 locations. To drink, you will have your choice of spring water, fresh lemonade or regular coffee. To nibble, you will have a choice of something sweet (like a brownie or a cookie) or something savoury (like a spanokopita or samosa). The selection will vary daily at each location.

At the final location (stamp #3) you will hand in your stamped passport to be eligible for the grand prize drawing at the end of bike month, plus you will receive a gift certificate for $5 off your next Dufflet purchase as a reward for completing the Tour de Dufflet 2010!

BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE! Tweet your Tour de Dufflet photos with the hashtag #TourDeDufflet to be eligible for additional prizes! The Twitter name for each unique photo tweet will be entered in a draw for a cake - so no cheating, but please be tweeting!

not bitten, spooned!

.
I know what you're thinking, but no, I did not bite into the loaf before taking the photo (shifty-eyes); the bite was "artfully" created using a spoon.

This is a sneak peek at one of the new items for our Father's Day newsletter which comes out next week for products available after Victoria Day.

You can view our monthly newsletter via our Downloads page or sign up to become a DuffClub Member and have them emailed directly to you!

PS/ I do admit to eating the spooned out part and it was delicious!

Banana Pecan Mini Loaf

photo + cupcake = easy

.
STAPLES knows a thing or two about hosting a sweet event. Here's a shot of the Dufflet cupcakes ordered for a recent media preview designed by STAPLES Canada (www.staples.ca) and Commotion (www.veritascanada.com)

The "easy button” graphic (provided by Staples) was printed on edible paper using vegetable inkjets and then applied to the top of 3" cupcakes with buttercream.

What could be easier?

For more info on photo cupcakes, please contact the Dufflet retail café most convenient to you (via email, telephone or in-person)
